A pair of statement highback armchairs in the Baroque revival style, capturing the grand, theatrical romance of early 17th century European design in a late 19th century format.

The frames are constructed from a solid, heavy hardwood in an ebonised finish that accentuates the abundance of carved details. The towering backrest is crowned with a carved crest with a central stylised shell motif, framed by scrolling acanthus foliage. Sweeping scroll armrests guide the eye down to the heavily turned block knees and a robust, H-pattern block and turned stretchers.

A more contemporary upholstery completes the look with a sophisticated blue-grey palatte.
